WHY DID I CHOOSE MY MAJOR?

it is (was, because i lost it, of course) my green practice apron

I graduated from high school on 2016 and to preparate the PSU, i decided to take me one year. So, i went to a popular preu called Victor Jara. It was free, because people who work there believe in a popular education, with a low and unique enrollment to the volunteers college students.

My test results was very good, but still insufficient to study International Studies at USACH. So, in a riski action and after talk with my parents, on 2018 i went to study Sociology at UCEN to transfer me through an external transfer, changing university and major. To achieve that, i needed to be one of the best students (good grades) in the major.

Some difficults happened, so, i just can postulate with my saved PSU's scores.

I remember that when i was a child, i used to play to be a teacher with my sisters or with my

teddies. That way helps me even when i grew up, to study for my exams at school.

But, since i had memory, i wanted to be journalist, chef, psychologist, anthropology, internationalist, a lot of things, but never the major that i'm studying.

Actually i'm studying Pedagogía en Educación Parvularia aka "educa" (i don't know what is the formal and in english name of the major).

At the end of my first and last year of sociology, i had had a subject at the university called Social Anthropology which I fell in love with, so i wanted to study Anthropology at Universidad de Chile, buuut, i couldn't and i was selected in Pedagogy, my second option on 2019. My plan was transfer from pedagogy to anthropology.

I didn't like children, they terrified me, they make me feel in so many times that i was boring, unfriendly.

But, when i get inside, i learned very much, understanding my childhood and its consequences, and so, understanding in general, the childhood. I decided to stay and finish it. It was never on my plans, but actually, i feel very excited, comfortable and engaged with my major and all what i can do with it.

Until now, has been an complete and excelent experience (no just about the contents): being with my partners out and inside the college make me keep learning, and i love that so much.

I'm hating online classes, i cant have my practices, that's got me so anxious.

  2. This is a great story with a lot of turns and aspects. Maybe, in the future, you can still try for a higher degree in something like Anthropology. Your major in English would be: Preschool Education or Early Childhood Education.
