A Meal or Food I Really Like
To be honest, my favorite hobby is eat, so I don't really have just one meal or food that i like.
Usually it depends on my mood, and right now I really want to eat korean food, particularly "tteokbokki" (떡볶이) or "rapokki".
Both are almost the same, with one difference only, rapokki have noodles. Okay, let's start to explain the base of this food dishes:
Made from korean rice cakes (garaetteok), usually sauteed in a spicy sauce, made from gochujang (red chili paste) and a salty broth.
Similar to Japanese "dashi", this broth is usually made with dried kelp (seaweed) and anchovies. For a spicier touch and more depth of color, "gochugaru" (chili flakes) is added. With a little rice syrup (mulyeot) or sugar, you can balance the flavors. Sliced chives and sesame seeds finish decorating the plate.
Tteokbokki can be served with a lighter soup-like sauce, to which eomuk (fish cakes) and hard-boiled eggs are added, or as a drier dish, with a thicker sauce (eomuk and eggs are optional, but, for me, very tasty;) )
I like it because it is a hot and cozy dish, perfect to eat on these days of winter. Also, this dish have a spicy touch, but that nice-tasty spicy, it isn't unpleasant. One tip, is that on korean restaurants you can chose your spicy level: without spicy, medium spicy and very spicy. Chose with wisdom!
I think all in excess it's bad, so, we must to eat at specific hours, salad, fruits, etc. Nonetheless, the dish have fish, egg, spicy (it's healthy too, find it out!), so is not so dangerous as mcdonald, for example.
