2022- 5th blog: Changes to my study programme

The Early Childhood Education programme is often sold as a program dedicated or with a strong focus on classroom work, direct work with children, but once inside, one realizes that in reality, the focus is on research, promoting research nuclei, invitations to participate in projects also with research purposes. So, those who entered the career to work directly with children or in the classroom, do not see many opportunities for improvement.

In relation to the academic load, it would improve (we have been requesting this for years), a better organization and coordination with respect to evaluations, because it always happens that during the end of semesters of all the homework and tests are accumulated. The same applies to the coordination of internships, both for applying to a center and for the teachers to follow up and evaluate.

If we talk about the faculty (the programme is located at facso), there is a lack of casinos, that is to say, places to be able to eat in a healthy way, not with high prices and based on sandwiches, empanadas, handrolls or cakes.

More places to study with internet access, including bathrooms!!! so that we do not have to leave the libraries, cross the campus and get to the bathroom; with more plugs to connect computers and cell phones.

Places, above all, to take shelter from the cold in the winter. If the faculty is already made of concrete (which is icy), in the winter you can't be there, having to walk across campus looking for a place to be.

Comfortable places: bearing in mind that many students arrive very early to the university and even travel from other regions to do so, many times they need to rest (and I am not referring to beds), so providing comfortable seats or rooms to take naps would be a great help, especially for those who spend practically all day at the university.

Please, an infirmary or something like that, two weeks ago I had an accident where I fell down some stairs and cut my leg, so I had to go to the other side of the campus looking for SEMDA, it would have been very useful and less humiliating to have help nearby :D

In parallel, in terms of technology, as mentioned before, but better and more efficient internet access, printers available in different parts of the faculty (with a pre-established amount of free printing), more visible and accessible computer rooms; and in terms of technology for online or hybrid classes, more assistance to teachers so that they can manage it.

In the faculty, the methods used by professors vary greatly depending on the programme. In general, I am very satisfied with the methods and/or strategies of my professors, however, there is always someone who recommends "mix coffee with coke", "get up earlier", "wake up studying because that is the student's life".
